We did it. Finnsøn is a Certified B Corporation®

When we started Finnsøn back in 2020, we had a very clear idea of the kind of business we wanted to build. Not just stylish, functional products for modern parents - but a brand that genuinely stood for something. One that was honest about its impact, rigorous about its choices, and committed to doing things the right way.

B Corp certification was always part of that vision. And after 18 months of rigorous assessment - we're incredibly proud to say that Finnsøn is now officially a Certified B Corporation™. This one means a lot to us. Not because of the badge, but because of what it proves. That from day one, we built this brand with intention. And that intention has been independently verified.

So, what exactly is a B Corp?

Certified B Corporations are businesses verified by B Lab™ to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. To earn certification, companies are rigorously assessed across five key areas: community, environment, workers, customers, and governance.

It's not a self-declaration. It's not a marketing tool. It has to be earned - and then maintained, with re-certification required every three years.

Finnsøn joins more than 10,700 Certified B Corporations worldwide, including over 2,700 businesses in the UK, all part of a global movement proving that business can be a force for good.

What it looks like in practice

For Finnsøn, B Corp certification isn't a departure from who we are - it's a reflection of it. Here's a snapshot of what underpinned our certification:

• Our bags are crafted from certified recycled polyester (rPET), made from post-consumer plastic bottles, with REACH-compliant fabrics and PFC and PFOA free finishes to avoid harmful chemicals

• All our factories are SEDEX-certified or BSCI-accredited, with annual third-party social audits to uphold ethical labour standards

• Our packaging and labels are made from FSC-certified recycled paper

• We partner with Little Village HQ through our return-to-reuse programme, donating returned bags, samples and excess stock to families in need and diverting product from landfill

• We offer flexible and hybrid working, employee volunteering days, and ongoing training to support our team's wellbeing

Every one of these decisions was made deliberately. B Corp certification simply confirms that they add up to something meaningful.

What our community told us

Before pursuing certification, we carried out a stakeholder survey across our customers, suppliers, shareholders and team to understand what mattered most to them. The results were clear - sustainable and responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency, and equality, diversity and inclusion came out as the top priorities. And when asked about B Corp certification specifically, the overwhelming response was that it matters. That gave us even more conviction to see this through.

What comes next

Becoming a B Corp isn't the finish line - it's a commitment to keep improving. In the year ahead, we're focused on:

• Strengthening our supplier relationships and improving supply chain transparency

• Expanding our employee volunteering programme and deepening our partnership with Little Village and introducing a collaboration with Littleloop

• Beginning to measure our carbon emissions and building a practical climate action plan

• Developing Digital Product Passports to give greater visibility into how and where our products are made.

We're proud of how far Finnsøn has come since 2020. But we're equally excited about where we're going.
